Biography

With over 100 successful drawings and some fortunate exhibitions under his belt, Arthur Durgaryan is a seasoned professional artist. He focuses on the sensual nature of art, aiming to portray the complications of life through a combination of color, texture and symbolism.

Arthur Durgaryan is an Armenian visual artist best known for his unique drawing style. These drawings are the proof of the unique and sometimes not understandable worldview of the artist, all of them are the result of a mixture of different feelings but at the same time leading to one big feeling, called love.

Arthur Durgaryan is a graduate of the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia, Yerevan. He started with sculpted works of art as a freshman, but after, the interest and love towards drawing became his main job and hobby. Then he started to work on different big projects, such as a restoration of wall paintings, jewelry modeling, etc.

From 2016 till present times, having a rich experience and knowledge in art, Arthur Durgaryan started giving lectures in Yerevan State College of Arts named after Panos Terlemezian. His approach to the students is also exemplary and unusual.

At the moment a lot of projects are being processed, a lot of great drawings and even sculpted works are planned to be completed.

While looking at Arthur Durgaryan’s emotional, breathtaking and mystic drawings, it can take a while to understand the main message that the artist wants to send. But according to his words, his art revolve around one unique thing, which is love.

“My work is mostly not just a series of emotions, but concrete love. Even if there are drawings that at first glance do not correspond to my point of view, their subject still preaches the supernatural power of love in context.” – ARTHUR DURGARYAN

It is obvious that the artist’s approach to the feelings is very deep, and in his every art, let it be a drawing or a sculpted work, the main message is that after all, love is the saving force in any life situation.

Each of Arthur Durgaryan’s works has its history, its origin that can be a memory, an emotion, a life situation or anything else that the artist feels.

Love with its mental states is an endless topic, moreover the existence of humanity today is existing due to such authors as Arthur Durgaryan. Human conflicts are often caused by a lack of love. Sometimes the Armenian talented painter finds his inspiration in the works of such authors as Bulgakov, Eugene Ionesco, Edgar Allan Poe, Arseniy Tarkovsky and their extraordinary and literary characters.

These authors have preached humanity, compassion from different mental states of love, fought against injustice, which also comes from a lack of love. Now Arthur Durgaryan’s one of the most important mission is to continue the authors’ uncompleted work, teach people humanity, love and internal peace and it may appear in the face of his art, his drawings, his every work.
